This type of blog involves a review of a particular product, usually posted by a blogger who holds a position of authority within the security vendor or hosting service. Reviews are usually intended to offer insight, both positive and negative, into a product that is either new or old, and intended to convince users to purchase the product in question. Reviews can also be used to spread awareness about security measures and best practices for using the specific product in question. Many times blogs also feature interviews with experts from the field, to help explain the functionality of a technology in more detail.
