These developments led to the rise of web-based computing environment that encompasses various applications. Web-based application software also constitutes a part of computing environment and is commonly used for creating websites, publishing content, managing files and databases, client-side programming, networking, desktop computing, document management systems, collaboration, distribution, desktop management tools, and multimedia systems. The term “web-based computing environment” ( WuBE ) refers to the collection of tools and languages used by an individual or an organization to create and use a web browser and an Internet server. Users can access these applications through the Internet.

Computing today has become a key player in business, science, technology, and society. It has become a goal-oriented activity required by individuals, companies, and government at all levels. The rapid growth of computer technology and wide-scale use of Internet has made the world a global village. Now a day, computing involves any activity that makes use of computers such as data processing, network computing, and file sharing. Some of the major components of a computing environment include network infrastructure, application software, memory, hard disk storage, input and output devices, user training and maintenance, and operating system.
